The Pictron Media Gateway Suite of products consists of
Video Gateway
Pictron Video Gateway unleashes the power of searchable video revolutionizing the way video is accessed and used on the Internet and Intranets. Video Gateway automatically detects video scene changes, extracts keyframes and summarizes the
video content into a visual storyboard format. A text transcript of the video is extracted from closed caption text or speech recognition (Audio Gateway) to provide full text search capabilities. Video Gateway can further encode multiple video
streams in Real, Microsoft, or MPEG formats during real-time video indexing with perfect synchronization. Video attributes, annotations, and metadata are cataloged automatically into the database. All of this information is synchronized through the
SMPTE time code of the digitized video. Video Gateway derives a structured visual storyboard and indexes information from unstructured content to produce a highly interactive, searchable video.
Video Gateway provides a cost-effective video logging and indexing system in an integrated Microsoft Windows environment. It is tightly integrated with industry standard SQL servers, text index servers, video servers, and Web servers with
unparalleled scalability. Users can search and browse video clips using standard Internet browsers or integrated Video Gateway client software.

Audio Gateway
Pictron Audio Gateway is fully integrated into the Pictron Media Gateway Suite. It automatically analyzes the audio track of a video to segment audio signals into speech and non-speech elements. Using advanced speaker-independent speech
recognition technology, Audio Gateway converts audio signals into a searchable text transcript, in real-time, without the tedious training process for individual speakers; thus, eliminating the labor-intensive manual process of annotating text and later
synchronizing it with the digitized video. Audio Gateway can further identify individual speakers and associate recognized text to a particular speaker. This powerful tool significantly enhances corporate communication and training, distance
learning, media archive and the Internet experience.
Audio Gateway Features
- Real-time speaker-independent speech recognition
- Support multiple languages - English, Japanese, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Chinese, and others
- Plug-in module running inside Video Gateway with integrated GUI
- Support live capture or digital files in AVI, MPEG-2, MPEG-1, Windows Media, RealVideo, and QuickTime
- SMPTE time code synchronization for speech transcript and video
- Full text editor with time code control to correct speech recognition errors if necessary
- Export and import speech transcript in XML format
Minimum System Requirements
- Windows 2000 Professional or Server
- 600 MHz Pentium III
- 128 MB RAM
- 30 MB Disk Space
